Title: Critical Discourse Analysis of the language teacher’s lesson in the Greek high school.

Abstract

The main aim of the dissertation is to analyze the discourse used by language teachers when teaching the Greek language course in high schools. More specifically, following the triple analytical framework introduced by Norman Fairclough, we attempt to describe the typical properties of the teacher’s discourse seen as a text, to interpret the discourse used during the teaching practice and to explain the ideological effect it has in the social practice.
