Abstract:

The doctoral dissertation will focus on the ways in which creative writing can contribute to the teaching of natural sciences. The reduced interest of students in the natural sciences, as well as the difficulties in grasping the rules governing natural phenomena—primarily due to students’ limited understanding and engagement with written language (both scientific and non-scientific)—are issues of concern for the research community in the humanities and education. Specifically, the study will address the difficulties in understanding written language in the natural sciences and propose new teaching approaches based on the principles of creative writing. The primary goal will be to stimulate students’ interest in the subject, ignite their imagination, and ultimately, through creative practice in written expression, cultivate logical thinking and a deeper understanding of the laws and phenomena that these laws explain.
